This blog has been stagnant for a while, but things are changing. I've moved over to my own self-hosted blog that you can find at nextstopcafe.com, and I'll be blogging more regularly over there and will eventually retire this one.
Typepad was nice to get started, and it has loads of great tools if you are trying to become a "professional blogger". But, I am not. I blog for personal reasons, and hope sometimes people can find something useful in what I say, but I have no blogging ambitions and I will never use many of the tools Typepad offers. More importantly, I'm a control freak and like to be able to run the software I want with the features I want. I already have lots of server space of my own, and it was trivial to set up Wordpress and get it rolling over there on a platform I control and manage myself.
I might even finish that multi-part Microsoft article! After three years, I believe it is more relevant than ever now that so many Linux-based products are nipping at Microsoft's heels.
